Owen & Kayla

Met up with Molly, Kelly & Kayla tonight for dinner in Herndon. Before we walked to ZPizza for dinner, we let the kids play at the little playground by Kelly's house. Then I sat them down on a bench to snap a few pics.

6-year anniversary photo

Today we celebrated 6 years of marriage. My wonderful mother-in-law came over to babysit so Ben and I could go out to dinner. Before we left, she took a couple of pictures for us.

Hanging out with Wyatt

Before we left FL we were able to get in one more playdate with Wyatt and Andrea. They had swim lessons at the Y, so we met up ahead of time to swim and play on the playground. The next time the boys see each other it will be Christmas and they'll both probably be walking! We can't wait to hang out again!

Spaghetti

Tuesday Mom and I took Owen out for lunch at Aunt Lindsey's favorite restaurant ~ the Olive Garden. I learned what not to order off the kid's menu. I'm not sure how much he actually got in his mouth, but he had fun. And it was entertaining to say the least! :)

Dinner with Uncle Mike & Aunt Lindsey

Mike got back from Blizzcon on Sunday, so on Monday night we went over to their place for dinner. He showed us all of the pictures he took of the fun they had at the conference. We had a great time catching up. Uncle Mike couldn't believe how big his nephew had gotten! Next time we'll see them it will be Christmas and Owen will probably be walking!

Grandpa babysits

Mom and I decided we wanted to see The Time Traveler's Wife, so Grandpa offered to watch Owen. I snapped this picture before we left for the theater.

The movie was not that great. But Owen was good for Grandpa and went to sleep without a fuss.

Walker

No, he's not walking on his own yet. But Grandma and Grandpa got Owen his very own walker for our visit. It took a little getting used to, but soon he was off and walking!

Mookie

Aunt Lindsey came over for dinner tonight and brought Mookie so he wouldn't be lonely waiting for her to come home. Owen had fun playing with him.

The Beach

We met up with Dotty, Andrea, Troy and Wyatt at the beach this afternoon. Owen had a ball! He loved the water and playing with the sand toys that Wyatt brought and shared. The water was so warm!

After a couple of hours on the beach we packed up to head home. Owen was a little sleepy.

New toys

Grandma and Grandpa gave Owen a bunch of new toys! He had fun playing with them and at one point crawled into the toy box.

Dinner at the club

This morning we relaxed and then after Owen's morning nap we decided to hit the pool. We went straight into the water as soon as we got there. The water was so warm! Owen loved swimming around with Mommy and Grandma. We even saw a baby frog in the pool. After the pool Owen took a nap and when we woke up we got ready to go to dinner at the club. Aunt Lindsey came over and fed Owen some sweet potatoes to tide him over until we got to eat.

When we got to the club we said hello to Leslie and Suzie at the bar, then joined up with Georgia and her son Dan and granddaughter Ronnie Lynn, Tony & Dotty, and Troy, Andrea and Wyatt. We had such a great time catching up with everyone. It was Italian night and Owen had his first tastes of fresh mozzerella, stuffed shells, and fennel ~ he loved everything!

At one point two of the string quartet players came into our private room to play us a song. Owen didn't quite enjoy it as much as we did:

We ate until we were stuffed. The tirimisu was my favorite part! Owen slept like a rock. :)

On the way to sunny FL!

Owen and I took the 8am JetBlue flight to Ft Lauderdale today. Ben dropped us off at the airport, parked the car, and got on his flight to LA to meet Mike and Jon for Blizzcon. Owen did well on the flight ~ was very antsy for the first hour, but then conked out and slept for about 40 minutes before waking up just in time for the landing.

It's so good to spend time with Mom and Dad. Owen loves seeing his Grandma and Grandpa and they had everything ready for us when we arrived. A carseat (he got to ride facing forward for the first time!), highchair, walker, the Pack 'N Play, toys, diapers, and babyfood and formula. We are set for the week!

Molars!?!?!?

During Owen's breakfast time this morning I noticed something in his mouth. After several attempts I was finally successful at seeing exactly what it was. He's getting one of his molars on the left side! I can't believe it. Luckily he hasn't been fussy at all (knock on wood). Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Geez, this kid is going to have a mouthful of teeth before he even turns 1!

Boating with Erica & Greg

Ben's parents were so sweet to let us borrow the boat today. We had perfect (hot!) weather to be out on the water. We all met up at the marina at noon and Greg started up the grill. He cooked up burgers and dogs and we had pasta salad, carrots & spinach dip, and chips to go with. Owen was really well-behaved. The bottle of sunscreen kept him entertained somehow while we finished eating.

Then we cleaned up our picnic and packed up for the boat. Once onboard, we set up the Pack 'N Play so Owen would have somewhere to go if he decided to nap. We pushed off and were out in the bay. Ben took us out a ways, and then we anchored so Ben could practice his diving off the back of the boat. He's so graceful.

Owen rode home topless again ~ he passed out as soon as we started driving...

Big boy bath

Now that Owen has practically outgrown his baby tub, we've finally started putting him into the actual tub. The bathing process is quite a workout! He is constantly squirming, climbing and standing up. When he's all suds up it is actually kindof dangerous ~ he's so slippery! But he has a ball ~ loves his bathtime.
