1st Cardiologist check-up

Vivian had her follow-up with the cardiologist this afternoon. Everything looks great! We go back at the end of January for her final check-up. The kids loved playing with all the toys on the floor of the exam room.

Don'tcha just love it when your kids sit all over the floor at the doctor's office???

4-yr well check

This kid is so happy to push the buttons in the elevator.

Mommy wished she would have scheduled his appointment for his actual birthday because now we have to go back later this week for his shots since they wouldn't do them today (you know, because two days before his actual birthday isn't close enough, sheesh!).

Oh well. Just means this little man gets twice as many stickers and gets to push twice as many elevator buttons! :)

15-month check-up

Vivian had her 15-mo well visit today. She was so brave for her 3 shots and only cried for a minute. The doc said she scored lowest on the verbal skills part of the assessment (they have this new online survey you take before the appointment so the doctor can review it with you during the visit and you can email them any questions or concerns ahead of time.) but that she's not concerned about it given her ability to communicate with signs so far.

Here are her stats:

Weight - 23 pounds, 2 oz (upper 50%)
Length - 31" (50-75%)
Head - 19' (95%)

She lost a little weight since her last visit, but the doc said it was fine. We're due back in 3 months for the happy 18-mo visit where there are no shots involved. :)

Vivian's 2-month check-up

Today is my 32nd birthday and Vivi's 2-month birthday! Ben wasn't feeling well today, so he took the day off from work. I knew he was really sick when he did this because he never calls in sick. So he spent the day in bed resting while Vivian and I went to see the pediatrician for her well-baby check-up.

Weight: 12 pounds, 6 ounces (75-90%)
Height: 22 & 1/4 inches (50%)
Head: 15 & 1/2 inches (50-75%)

I knew she had grown, but wow! She is over a pound heavier than Owen was at his 2-month check-up. She's our big girl! :)

We took some pictures on the pink blanket that Kelly, Matt & Kayla gave her with her name embroidered on it. Can't wait to see how much she grows between now and her 4-month appointment!

Vivi's 2-week check-up

Mommy had fun this afternoon playing around with the camera on self-timer. We didn't get to take many pictures though because Vivi got hungry and then we had to run out to her 2-week check-up. I'm happy to report that she was an awesome sleeper last night! We went to bed at 9pm, she had a bottle at 9:15pm and then slept for 4 hour stretches the entire night! She was up at 1:15am, 5am, and then again at 9am. Lucky for me she woke up right at 9am because when Ben and Owen left at 8am, I forgot to set my alarm for my 10am OB-GYN check-up appointment. We had just enough time for a bottle, burp, diaper change and Mommy had a quick shower and believe it or not - we made it there right on time! :)

Vivian's check-up was in the afternoon and she had a great appointment. Here are her stats:

Weight: 7 pounds, 15.4 oz
Height: 20 inches
Both are the 50%

Her 2-month check-up is on my 32nd birthday, so I definitely won't forget that appointment. After she has all her shots, we'll be set to head down to FL to meet her cousin Max for the first time! Max is exactly 3 weeks older. Can't wait to see all 3 cousins together!!!

2-yr checkup

Owen had his 2-yr well visit this morning. He was very well-behaved for the nurse and our favorite doctor in his practice, Dr. Reilly. The nurse did his measurements and my guess was spot-on for weight. Here are his stats:

Weight - 29lbs (50%)
Length - 36" (75%)
Head Cir - 19 & 3/4" - 75%

He's our growing boy! After he was measured, Dr Reilly came in. She sings little songs to the kids as she checks them and Owen just loves it. She said he looks great. Then it was time to get his shots. The nurse came in and as she swiped his arms with alcohol, I covered his eyes so he wouldn't see what she was about to do. That was a good move on my part, that, and the nurse was super quick. He whined a tiny bit at the first one, but that was it. No hysterical crying, which was nice. He got his Hep A shot and his flu shot and two really cool Halloween band-aids. :)

When we checked out he got to pick a sticker and chose a big Elmo one to wear to school. He made it to school in time for snack and joined right in with his class after giving me a kiss goodbye.

18-month well visit

Today was Owen's 18-month check-up. He cried when the nurse measured his head, he cried when she tried to check his length, and he wailed when he got his shot. But overall, he is one very healthy little boy who is growing fast!

Head circumference: 19 & 1/4" (75-90%)
Height: 35 & 1/2" (97%)
Weight: 26#12oz (50-75%)

15-month "well baby" check-up

EDIT: Owen weighs in at 25 pounds, not 15 as in my original post!!! Thanks Amanda for noticing my ridiculous error! I think his cold has gotten to my head! :-)

So yesterday afternoon was Owen's 15-month well visit. He's not really "well" at the moment, so it was a combo well/sick visit. He's been battling a cold, which turned into a suspected sinus infection, for which he was put on antibiotics, has been waking up coughing in the middle of the night, his nose won't stop dripping clear snot, and well, that's about it.

Mommy finally taught Owen how to give kisses last week. You guessed it, I've now contracted his lovely cold. This is the second time I've gotten sick from him. And it's my own fault. I just refuse to not kiss my baby because he's sick. So I'm bound to get sick. Comes with the territory.

Here are his current stats:

Weight ~ 25 pounds, 2 ounces - 50th percentile
Height ~ 33 inches - 95th percentile
Head ~ 19 & 1/8 inches - 75th percentile

The pedi says we need to increase his calories at least until his 18-month checkup to see if we can get his weight up a little bit. He's a good eater, but I think he just hasn't gained much since his last visit because he is so active. So lucky boy gets to have more cheese and milk and hopefully he'll grow big and strong by his next checkup.
