Swimming on Saturday

Ben had the brilliant idea of taking Owen swimming this weekend. We packed our swim bag and set off for the rec center. Owen had a blast! (Mommy and Daddy had fun too!)

Playdate w/ Steph & Owen's two front teeth

Today when we were getting ready for our lunch date with Stephanie and Sarah Catherine, Mommy noticed that Owen's two bottom front teeth have started coming in! Mommy tried her best to get a picture, but it just wasn't happening.

We met Steph and her baby girl at the Cheesecake Factory in Tyson's and had a great time catching up with them. Owen even snuck in a little nap courtesy of the restaurant's wonderful white noise.

He wore his new outfit from Cousin Kenny, Michelle, CJ and Justin. Thanks guys!! I snapped this picture before we left.

Snow day!!!

So far we've gotten a little over 2 inches, and they're calling for 4-6. Ben worked from home today and this afternoon he took a break to take some pictures with Owen and I outside.

Learning to sit up

Today Owen and I practiced sitting up (with assistance, of course). He's getting better at eating rice cereal, so today we went to the grocery store and bought some vegetables for him to try. Stay tuned for some new posts documenting this experience. :-)

Owen standing up

Owen's new thing is to stand up while holding hands with Mommy or Daddy. This new trick can entertain him for what seems like forever. Or, until he gets tired and plops down to a seated position! :)

Owen tries rice cereal

Mommy went out this morning (with Owen in tow) to purchase him a high chair. When I got home Ben put it together and then we gave him his first taste of solids. Owen in his new highchair ~ ready to eat! Video clip of his very first solids feeding:

Here's how he looked right before we cleaned up:

4 month check-up

Ben and I took Owen to the pediatrician this morning for his 4-month checkup and 2nd round of shots. He did so well! He hardly cried when he got the shots and was an angel all day. We had to bundle up today because it was so cold here!

Here are his stats:

Weight - 16lbs (75%)
Length - 26.5 in (90%)
Head - 17.25 in (75%)

We've got a big growing boy!

Daddy and Owen play "Peek-a-boo"

First day of Daycare

I started back at work (part-time) today, so it was Owen's first day of daycare. I had to wake him up to get him ready (he's been sleeping through the night for the past few weeks). I got him changed and dressed for the day, and gave him his first bottle. I snapped this picture right before we headed out the door.

Owen did very well today (based on notes from his "teachers"). I, on the other hand, was worrying about him every minute and was counting down the hours until I would get to see him again. Daddy picked him up and had playtime until I got home at 6pm. Now I'm looking forward to my full day with him tomorrow.

My cool new jammies

Aunt Jess and Aunt Dana got Owen these adorable pajamas from Baby Gap. Owen was showing them off tonight before bedtime. Thanks Dana and Jess!!!

They say "Beware of Sharks". :)

Owen goes to daycare for the first time tomorrow morning. Mommy is sad to be giving up so much time with him, but we'll have all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays to make up for it.

Jumping with Daddy

Owen has just in the last few weeks started to giggle. If you listen closely to this clip you'll hear a few little ones. We're having so much fun with this new game:

YAY HOKIES!

This post is a day late, but we had Owen outfitted in his Virginia Tech outfit from my dad all day yesterday. Before the game Owen enjoyed chewing on his stuffed Hokie bird from Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Mikey.

All bundled up
