Packing up to head home

This morning Owen and I packed up to head home to Virginia. (Ben left yesterday morning so that he could do some work.) It was such a relaxing and fun week with family and friends. It went by so fast and I was sad to see it come to an end. Luckily, Owen won't have to wait long to see his Grandparents again since they're coming up in a month to watch him for us while Ben and I take a vacation to Cancun. Grandparents are the BEST! :)

Who needs Christmas presents when you have a salad spinner???

Hanging out before dinner

Flamingo Gardens

Today Owen and my mom and I met up with Dotty, Andrea and Wyatt at Flamingo Gardens. It was a beautiful day to walk around the gardens and see all the birds and other animals. Andrea brought along Wyatt's big Christmas gift ~ a Radio Flyer 2-seater wagon ~ to pull the boys in.

It was so funny to watch them both hold onto the sides as Andrea pulled them along.

Andrea and the boys checking out a peacock atop a picnic table. Check out her cute baby bump! (Due in June!)
We couldn't resist this ~ check out Wyatt's tongue in the second pic!

This was right before they bumped heads:
Then the mommies did a quick hairstyling session. Clearly they are LOVING this.
At the otter cage, one came right up to the boys.
I turned over the camera to Grandma so that I could pose for a picture with my little man.
Owen got up close to the giant tortoises.
Just look at that pout. And those blue eyes.
A mere thirty seconds later. Owen: "Mom, please stop taking my picture. I'm so done."
"Dude! I know how this velcro stuff works ~ watch!"
Inside the aviary where you were instructed not to look up with your mouth open. Yes, that one bird is bigger than Owen. Thankfully it stayed behind the ropes.

Discovery Museum for Kids

Today Grandma and Grandpa took us to the Fort Lauderdale Discovery Museum of Science for Kids. We walked to the museum from where we parked the car near Las Olas. It was a gorgeous day for a walk ~ sunny and warm.

Owen had so much fun exploring and seeing all the animals. We took a plethora of pictures. He LOVED riding on the tractor, the bubble table, and the magnet table. After a few hours of running around in the museum, we headed to Las Olas to have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Owen was bouncing around in his highchair while enjoying some chicken tenders and fries. He slept on the ride home - his second nap of the day. A good time was had by all.

Playdate with Wyatt

This afternoon we met up with our friends Dotty, Andrea and Andrea's son Wyatt who is 10 days younger than Owen. The boys had so much fun running around the playground and going up and down the slides. After they worked off some energy we headed back to my mom's house for lunch. The boys exchanged Christmas presents and Wyatt gave Owen two adorable books that he is already in love with. Owen slept for three hours after all the excitement. Love those long naps. :)
