Frying Pan Park playground

We got there too late, they close the gates to see the animals by 5pm, but we still had fun on the playground!

Coloring on a rainy Monday

It was a good day to color this afternoon since it was so rainy and soggy outside. We had fun making Cookie Monster red, Owen's favorite color! :)

The At Play Cafe ~ great place for a rainy day

This morning Aunt Hillary and I took Owen to the At Play Cafe. It's half coffee shop, half huge playroom ~ a brilliant concept in my opinion! We enjoyed chai lattes while Owen played in the kitchen, had a toy stolen from him at the dollhouse, and went up the ladder and down the slide numerous times. It was so fun. I see many visits to the At Play Cafe for Owen during this rainy spring time. :)

Happy 19-months to Owen!

This month has been very exciting! Owen has started talking in two-word sentences! We are starting to communicate effectively. Don't get me wrong, there are still tantrums here and there. That's the joy of the terrible 2's for ya! We're still doing baby sign language, but we've been noticing that he's using it less and less these days. Which I guess is a "sign" that he's really starting to grasp the English language. We love watching Owen grow every day. Sometimes I swear he's gained a pound and an inch in a week! Can't wait to see what he's doing by his next month-birthday. :)

Visiting baby Nate

Molly and Tim arrived home yesterday! They are doing so well. I took a couple of pictures while I was there:

Daddy was a pro at multi-tasking ~ watching hockey, the Yankees, and of course, the Masters. I have a feeling Nate will follow in his daddy's footsteps. :)

Playdate with Drea and Jaxon

Owen's friends Drea and Jaxon came over to play today! The kids had a ball and Claudia and I learned first-hand how challenging it is to photograph toddlers and babies. Good thing Ben was available to snap a group shot for us! :)

They brought Owen an Easter book and magnetic car puzzle which he LOVES already. We can't wait to do it again this summer ~ maybe at Hersheypark!

Owen loves the playground

The weather cooled off today and thank goodness it did since we're having to replace our heating/A/C unit due to it conking out on us. Fun, fun. So we put on a sweatshirt and headed out to Owen's favorite place these days, the playground.

Easter Egg Hunt #2

Good thing we got there on time! The egg hunt started at 10:30 on the dot and was over before you could say "Happy Easter!". Literally. Owen was a rock star and collected 8 eggs! Uncle Mike took some video (about 5 minutes worth) and then Grandma treated us to lunch. On our walk over to the patio for lunch, we stopped to watch Poppie who was putting on the 9th hole. It was a very fun morning and our little man had a hard time keeping his eyes open on the 2-minute drive home. He was out of his jumper and into his sleep blanket in no time and has been snoozing ever since. Mommy is headed outside to read a book while he naps. :)

Miami Zoo with my buddy Wyatt

Today we went to the Miami Zoo with our good friends Dotty, Andrea and Wyatt. Dotty drove us all in her new 7-passenger Acura. It was a quick drive and we had gorgeous weather. The boys loved seeing all the animals. We walked around until 12:30, then stopped to picnic. After re-fueling, we walked around to see more of the animals. Wyatt took a snooze, but Owen somehow managed to stay awake until we were walking back to the car around 3:45pm. He had a quick 20-minute nap but then was wide awake for the trip home. It was an early bedtime. :)
